MOSCOW – A 57 year old mam froze to death inside a freezer at a mortuary in Russia after paramedics had placed him there convinced the man was already dead.
A neighbor had found the man laying motionless in his house. The neighbor called rescue services. When they arrived, they determined the man was already dead and nothing else could be done for him.

The ambulance drove the man to a mortuary and stored him in a freezer.
But when an employee of the mortuary pulled the man’s body from the freezer two days later to prepare it for burial, the staff member noticed the man’s eyelids were moving.
Despite administering first aid and bringing the body up to normal temperature, the 57 year old died shortly thereafter. His death report states cause of death as ‘frozen to death’.
The incident occurred in the region of Pskov, about 350 mile north-west of Moscow.
A judge ruled the man’s death as homicide, stating the attending paramedics and doctors ‘didn’t do anything to offer first aid to the deceased’.
Both paramedics have already been fired for ‘neglect’. A legal case against them is still pending.
