NEWARK – Surrounded only by a close circle of relatives and friends, megastar Whitney Houston was buried on Sunday.

Houston’s final resting place is at the Fairview Cemetery in Westfield where she was placed next to her father who passed away in 2003.

Whitney Houston was taken to the graveside by a golden colored hearse.

Fans showed up by the hundreds at the cemetery to get one last glimpse and say their ultimate goodbye to their beloved star.

A funeral service for Whitney Houston took place on Saturday. About 1,500 people attended that service. Amongst them were Stevie Wonder, Clive Davis, Alicia Keys, Tyler Perry and actor Kevin Costner.

During the height of her singing career, Whitney Houston became the most awarded female performer in music history.

She died at the tender age of 48 on February 11 2012 at 3:55PM PST. The cause of her death is still pending.
