BEVERLY HILLS – Several of Whitney Houston personal belongings will be auctioned off in March and fans will be able to bid on such items as earrings and clothing.
The items belonging to Whitney are part of a bigger auction called ‘Hollywood Legends’, which will also have items belonging to other entertainment greats up for bid at the same time, such as a cane belonging to Charlie Chaplin.
Darren Julien, who is the master auctioneer says all the items being auctioned off are of excellent quality and will make a good investment for fans.
And that’s especially true for Whitney. “By buying something from her, you’ll be celebrating her life,” says Julien.
“The items are of great historical value,” adds the auctioneer.
Whitney Houston items to be auctioned off are a pair of earrings, a black velvet dress and a vest, each of which she wore in the movie ‘The Bodyguard’.
The faux-pearl earrings are said to fetch 400 dollars, the vest 600 while the dress should bring in 1,000 dollars.
Houston is “someone who’s going to maintain a collectability,” according to the auctioneer.
“For people who are fans of Whitney Houston and never would have had a chance to meet her and never got to talk to her, these are items that literally touched a part of her life. They are a way to relate to her or be a part of her life without having known her,” said Julien.
Collectors can bid online, by phone or in person during the “Hollywood Legends” auction on March 31 and April 1. A free public exhibit of the items will be held on March 19 at the Julien Acution House in Beverly Hills.
