The thin, high heels shoes have long been a fashion item for women across the globe and in many movies and novels, the sexy footwear has often been associated with crimes of lust but never actually became the murder weapon … until now.

Alf Stefan Andersson (59), a Swedish fertility expert with dual citizenship – Swedish and US -, was employed by the University of Houston, Texas, since 2009.

His body was found in his apartment on Sunday at 4PM local time. Police arrested the Professor’s 44 year old girlfriend Ana Lilia Trujillo on charges of killing Andersson.

Andersson had several puncture wounds in his skull. A closer examination of the wounds revealed that the injuries were brought on by the pointed heels of stiletto shoes, according to ABC.

Neighbors stated they heard fierce arguing between Andersson and Trujillo moments before the professor was killed. Police believe Trujillo slammed the heel of her shoe on the professor’s head several times, thereby killing him.

But Trujillo’s lawyer says that his client acted out of self-defense and used her stiletto to protect herself during the heated argument.

Ana Lilia Trujillo is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday
