PALO ALTO – Rumors are out that Google Inc is looking to build its own smartphone now that it has acquired the 18,000 patents from Motorola.

Google purchased Motorola and is now considering to use that company to build its own cell phone, allowing Google to better adapt its Android software to specific features of the phone.

In other words, if the rumors are confirmed, Google is looking to mimic Apple and what it did with its iPhone; making it exclusively Apple OS and Apple cell phone.

Presently Google allows cell phone manufacturers to use its Android Operating System license free, meaning, Google makes little or no money from its extremely popular OS.

Even the Nexus product line of cell phones Google released in a joint venture with Samsung isn’t bringing in much money for the internet giant.

Samsung and HTC, two of Google’s greatest allies and users of the Android OS are reportedly furious over the company’s possible venture to build its own smartphone because that would mean that Google, who owns Android, now becomes their direct competitor with as the companies claim ‘an unfair advantage’.
