Katie Gets Jackpot Divorcing Tom

HOLLYWOOD – TomKat is calling it quits after being married for six years (2006 – 2012). For Katie, there is a lucrative pot of gold waiting at the end of this rainbow.

Prenups between Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes stipulate that should the couple divorce, Katie gets $US3 million per year for every year they were married, not to exceed $US33 million.

Reportedly, Tom’s better half will also get a luxurious home in the heart of Beverly Hills, California, valued at $US35 million.

According to California marital laws Holmes would have the right to get half of Cruise’s $US287 million fortune if she stayed married to the actor for more than 11 years.

For Katie this is a super deal. She doesn’t even need to spend money on a lawyer to get that pot of gold; it’s already been set aside for her.

Of course, the actress can always hire a legal firm to try and squeeze more money from Tom and experts believe that that’s exactly what the 33 year old Holmes is going to do.

Allegedly, there is no set child support figure for Suri and certainly Katie wants to make sure her daughter gets a portion of ‘daddy’s estate’.

Katie expressed she wants full custody of six year old Suri. Vikki Ziegler, a New York attorney said that Katie needs to use Suri as a ‘bargaining chip’ if she wants to get more money from Tom by proving that her daughter needs nannies, clothes, hair dressers, activities and so forth.

49 year old Tom Cruise stated that he is ‘saddened’ with Katie’s request for a divorce and did not ‘see this blow coming’.
