NEW YORK – Rapper Snoop Dogg has changed his name to Snoop Lion by approval of his Rastafarian priest.
The rapper said during a media conference in New York that he had an interesting meeting with a priest in Jamaica who asked him for his name and when he said ‘Snoop Dogg’ the priest look him in the eyes and allegedly answered:

“At that moment I understood why I was there,” Snoop ‘Lion’ said.
Snoop also said that his next album will be Reggae music because rap doesn’t excite him anymore.
According to the Snoop, his new name and his new music genre are part of him being reborn.
One individual who was present at the conference said that just maybe Snoop was smoking ‘some really good stuff’ and added, ‘if not, we’ll know him now as Snoop Lion’.
The documentary ‘Reincarnated’ by Vice Films which details Snoop Dogg’s life, will be premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival September 7th.
