HOLLYWOOD – “As an American, owning a weapon is part of my DNA,” Brad Pitt said during an interview with LIVE magazine.
The ‘Mr and Mrs Smith’ actor, who is used handling a variety of firearms in movie scenes, says he feels ‘unsafe’ without a gun.

“America is founded on weapons, it’s in our DNA. It’s strange but I feel safer with a gun,” Mr. Pitt said.
“Honestly! I really don’t feel safe. I find my house isn’t truly safe unless I have a gun hidden somewhere. That’s my opinion, whether you like it or not.”
Mr. Pitt tells LIVE how he was introduced to weapons as a young lad but turned out to be a responsible adult.
“I was still in kinder garden when I got my first BB gun. On my sixth birthday I got a shotgun. When I was eight I had a pistol and a shotgun and I grew up in a relatively normal environment.”
America has been struggling back and forth with the right to bare arms. Many lawmakers and citizens believe it is their right as Americans to have weapons; for others guns are considered dangerous and the cause behind much violence.
