HOLLYWOOD – Veteran actor Sean Penn says he has a hard time with the death of Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez.
“I was blessed with a friend who I lost,” Penn tells The Hollywood Reporter.
Sean Penn and Hugo Chavez became good friends after they got to know each other in 2007.
“Today the United States lost a friend they didn’t know they had,” Penn said. “And poor people across the globe lost an activist.”
Chavez, who died on Tuesday, will be buried on Friday. He died of cancer. He was 58 years old.
